There is much buzz right now about “Twitter Lists”, a new feature that Twitter has recently created, to help people organize people they follow on Twitter, since many Twitter users follow many people who tweet about different topics and disciplines. On the upper right hand corner after your number of followers, you’ll see a number on top of “listed”. Clicking on the “listed” button shows how many lists follow you, and how many lists you follow.
So just how exactly can Twitter Lists be useful for your business? If you’ve started tweeting, like many small business owners out there, this can help you organize people you follow. Let’s say you follow a handful of Tweeple who tweet about social media, then you can group them together on your “social media” list. Your personal contacts could be grouped on your “friends” or “personal” list. Every time you want to view the tweets by the people you follow, the information has been organized so that you can view tweets based on topics or categories.
One way you can also use Twitter Lists to your advantage is the greater ease in finding people that Tweet about your interests or business-related topics. For example, in Social Media, here are some notable lists that I recommend that you follow.

It is easy to find lists that would suitable for your business purposes via “Listorious” as well. At http://www.listorious.com, Twitter lists are organized via category, relevance and popularity.
Getting listed on other Twitter users’ list is also a good indicator that you are using Twitter successfully. For example, if you tweet about your coffee shop small business, it would be a good idea to be listed in lists like these:
